Spring Wind
a spring poem by Canadian poet Judi Suni Hall

Last night’s rain
has been blown away
by the next storm
moving in

We walk
in the high walled garden
searching for
signs of spring

greening grass
early crocuses
spinach shoots
two sunny dandelions

Above us
the racket of the wind
in old pines and
still bare branches

carries with it
the cold of
melting snow pack
the smell of ice
